In early September 2008, SBI sent Drs Reyes and Saliba to Valdivia Chile. to attend the Annual Burn Meeting of Plastic Surgeon Graduates of the Catholic University Medical School in Sao Paolo – who as residents received their training under Prof. Hamilton Gonella, the Director of Plastic Surgery. Those graduates treated burned patients in their plastic surgery practices in South and Central America countries. Drs Saliba, Reyes, Stillitano, and Gonella presented heparin in burns studies. In the Valdivia Hospital,  Dr. Reyes demonstrated heparin treatment on a burned child.

 In August 2010 Paraquay Drs Oswaldo Aguino and Bruno Balmelli presented their study, “The Analgesic Effect of Topical Heparin in Acute Burns” at the VI Chilean Burn Congress, (“VI Congreso Chileno de Quemaduras, Analgesia en el paciente Quemado con aplicación tópica de la heparina”).
