Residents close to Ottawa experienced loud explosions late Thursday night.
The blasts came from unused Canada Day fireworks.
Abandoned fireworks from July 1 detonated by Lemieux Island.
Police and councillors affirmed the incident.
Another blast occurred at Bluesfest’s kick‑off night.
Stray shells went off there too.
Nobody was hurt and no damage reported was reported.
