Notable epidemics include the 2014-2016 West African epidemic, impacting Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone. The 2020 outbreak occurred in 2020 DR Congo. Illness typically appear in 2-21 days after exposure, including fever, nausea/vomiting, diarrhea, and stomach pain. Present treatments focus on supportive care, like fluid replacement alongside complication management, as well as experimental therapies and vaccine use.
