A plane from Air Canada slid off the taxiway at Montreal-Trudeau Airport on July 10. It touched down, before drifting onto the grass and settled off the runway. Officials sealed the strip immediately. Nobody was injured during the incident, despite how jarring it seemed.
That block closed takeoffs and landings for hours. Cleanup crews dragged equipment to the area. Others inspected the runway for possible damage. Later that day, aircraft were back in the air when the strip reopened.
