The eastbound lanes of SR-16 on the the bridge were shut late Saturday night. Cars were stopped after an emergency alert went out. Police directed drivers on each end of the bridge. Crews started checking the structure right away. No one has explained why they closed it yet. Crews have not reported when the lanes will reopen.
