One survey reported Massie's favorability sliding from 54-40 in last June to 43-54 in early August, with 39% reporting seeing media showing he opposes Trump. Another found Republicans favoring a Trump-backed candidate over Massie by 52% to 23%, and the poll said GOP primary voters were 53% more reluctant to vote for Massie based on what they've seen recently. Club for Growth PAC results showed Massie well-positioned to win a Republican primary if and fresh polling found Massie a small lead over Ed Gallrein in the Kentucky congressional primary race.
