Remembrance Day 2025

This Remembrance Day, we pause to honour those who have served and sacrificed in past and present conflicts. We reflect on their contribution to the freedoms we enjoy today and express support for serving and former Armed Forces members and their families.

Local Observances

Many places of worship across Manchester will observe a two-minute silence. On campus, The Holy Name Church will hold a two-minute silence on 9th November at 11am. Please check with your local place of worship for their specific plans.

University of Manchester Service

Members of the North West Officer Training Corps, University representatives, Multifaith Chaplains, the university community, and the public will gather in John Owen’s Quad at 10:45am. Attendees are asked to arrive before 10:45am for the service.

A two-minute silence will begin at 11am.
