Dame Helen Mirren, already an award-winning actress with an Oscar, four BAFTAs, five Emmys, a Tony, and three Golden Globes, is set to receive the Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement. The announcement was made on Wednesday, confirming that the British acting legend, aged 80, will be honored at a ceremony in January 2026.
The award will be presented on January 8, 2026, just three days before the main Golden Globes event. The Cecil B. DeMille Award, regarded as a prestigious lifetime achievement honor, has previously been given to icons such as Meryl Streep, Alfred Hitchcock, and last year's winner Viola Davis.
"Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary," said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. "Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honour to present her with the Cecil B DeMille award."
The January 8 ceremony will also feature the presentation of the Carol Burnett Award for television achievements, though the recipient has not yet been announced.
Dame Helen Mirren continues to be celebrated for her extraordinary talent and dedication to acting.
