Robins to Face Broncos in 2026 Betfred World Club Challenge

Rugby League Commercial has officially confirmed that the Betfred World Club Challenge will return in 2026, with Hull KR hosting the Brisbane Broncos at the MKM Stadium on Thursday, February 19. This match will feature the 2025 champions of the Betfred Super League and Australia’s NRL Telstra Premiership.

The event will mark a swift return to the UK for several Australian players from the Ashes series, including Reece Walsh, Kotoni Staggs, and Patrick Carrigan. They will face off against Hull KR’s England representatives Mikey Lewis, Jez Litten, and Joe Burgess.

“We are delighted that Hull KR and Brisbane Broncos have confirmed the return of the Betfred World Club Challenge in 2026,” said Nigel Wood OBE, Chair of RL Commercial. “Rugby League’s Anglo-Australian rivalry takes the sport to a wider audience, as we have seen in the current Ashes series, and it’s wonderful to see the World Club Challenge heading to the great Rugby League city of Hull.”

Wood added that Hull KR will be the sixth British club to take part in the tournament, calling it a deserved reward for the team’s impressive progress in recent seasons. He described the Brisbane Broncos as one of the most iconic names in Australian sport, making them ideal opponents for the event.
