Sarah Snook And Dakota Fanning On How New Show ‘All Her Fault’ Reveals The “Invisible Labor” Women Take On In Relationships

Sarah Snook and Dakota Fanning on the Hidden Work Behind ‘All Her Fault’

In the new series All Her Fault, Sarah Snook takes on the role of Marissa, a mother living through every parent’s worst fear. What begins as an ordinary day quickly turns tragic when she arrives to pick up her five-year-old son Milo from a playdate, only to discover there was never one—and that her child has vanished.

As the mystery deepens, it becomes apparent that Milo has been taken by someone within their close circle. Together with her friend Jenny, played by Dakota Fanning, and her husband portrayed by Jake Lacy, Marissa is forced to question everything she believed about her family and friends.

“When they gave me the book and I read it and found out what the twist was, I couldn’t say no—it was just so juicy and there’s so much to explore,” said Snook.

Beyond the suspense, the show delves into the unstated imbalance that many women face in their personal lives. Through the experiences of Marissa and Jenny, the story exposes how unevenly responsibilities are often divided at home, with women managing their careers while still carrying the weight of childcare and domestic duties.

“I think it’s a conversation that’s been happening in my life and my friendship circles for at least five years, now reaching the public forefront—about the invisible labor women take on in relationships that involve children,” noted Snook.

Even the show’s title, All Her Fault, reflects how society often places undue blame on women, even in circumstances beyond their control.
