Shapiro grew up in Burbank, a city in Los Angeles County. His mother worked as a TV company executive, and his father was a composer and pianist. Both parents identified as Reagan Republicans. He was raised in a two-bedroom house, sharing a bedroom with his three older sisters.
In 2015, Ben Shapiro co-founded The Daily Wire, a conservative media company that produces podcasts, streamed shows, scripted movies, and documentaries. By 2024, The Daily Wire was valued at over $220 million.
