Free Transit for Veterans on Remembrance Day

TransLink will honor veterans and active military personnel this Remembrance Day by providing free transit on Tuesday, November 11, in recognition of their service and sacrifice.

Who Is Eligible?

Free transit applies to veterans, active members of the Canadian Armed Forces, police and fire personnel, Canadian Coast Guard members, officers from the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and BC Ambulance Service personnel. Eligible individuals can show a badge, military ID, Veteran’s Service Card, or wear a uniform to access free transit.

TransLink also observes National Indigenous Veterans Day on Saturday, November 8, to honor Indigenous veterans and their contributions to peace and security worldwide.

The Royal Canadian Legion will be distributing poppies by donation at various transit hubs in Metro Vancouver.

Customers are encouraged to use transit to travel to and from Remembrance Day ceremonies across the region. Holiday fares will apply to other passengers on November 11.
