Helen Mirren to Receive Cecil B. DeMille Award at Golden Globes’ ‘Golden Eve’ Special

Dame Helen Mirren will be honored with the Cecil B. DeMille Award during the Golden Globes' new primetime special “Golden Eve,” airing Thursday, January 8, ahead of the Golden Globes ceremony on Sunday, January 11. The program will be broadcast on CBS and streamed on Paramount+.

Mirren joins a distinguished line of recipients celebrated for lifetime achievements in film and television since the award’s inception in 1952. The “Golden Eve” special will also recognize the upcoming Carol Burnett Award honoree and serve as a prelude to the 83rd annual Golden Globe Awards.

“Helen Mirren is a force of nature, and her career is nothing short of extraordinary,” said Helen Hoehne, president of the Golden Globes. “Her transcendent performances and commitment to her craft continue to inspire generations of artists and audiences alike. It is a profound honor to present her with the Cecil B. DeMille Award.”

Spanning more than six decades, Mirren’s career encompasses film, television and stage. She is a three-time Golden Globe winner and has also received an Oscar, Emmy and Tony Award. Her acclaimed performances include portraying Queen Elizabeth II in Stephen Frears’ “The Queen,” as well as roles in “Elizabeth I” and “Losing Chase.”
