Join the Remembrance Sunday Commemoration in Derby

Derby's community is invited to participate in the Remembrance Sunday events on Sunday, 9 November 2025. The city’s annual parade and service will unite youth groups, veteran organisations, and citizens to honor the sacrifices of the armed forces and emergency services.

Event Details

Starting at 10:45 AM, local veterans and youth groups will march through the city centre to the Market Place, accompanied by the Salvation Army Band. At 10:55 AM, a short service will be held, led by the Lord Bishop of Derby and assisted by the Very Rev'd Dr Peter Robinson, Dean of Derby.

During the service, a two-minute silence will be observed.

After the silence, civic dignitaries and representatives from local organisations will lay wreaths at the War Memorial. The service’s Order of Service is available for download, and the event will be streamed live on a large screen in the Market Place.

Participation Notes

Unlike previous years, troops from the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers 148 Divisional Support Company will not be parading. Nevertheless, several local youth and veteran groups are invited to participate as usual.
