Kim Kardashian Hints She Might Have Damaged Marilyn Monroe’s Dress
The 1962 Jean Louis gown, last auctioned for $5 million, reportedly had a tear in the right strap, missing crystals, and visible stretching around the back seam after Kim Kardashian wore it to the 2022 Met Gala.
During a Vanity Fair video, Kim sat for a lie detector test as her All’s Fair co-star, Teyana Taylor, questioned her about the supposed damage to Marilyn Monroe’s iconic dress.
“Did you whoop Marilyn Monroe’s dress?”
The 34-year-old singer asked twice. Each time, Kardashian calmly replied:
“No.”
Teyana pressed further, suggesting the gown may have been damaged beforehand.
“So you’re saying that it got to you already whooped?”
Kim answered,
“I don’t know how it got to me, but it’s perfect now.”
When Taylor asked what the dress looked like when Kim tried it on, Kardashian eventually broke her composure and joked:
“You’re gonna cost me like $10 million in insurance. Let’s move on!”
The producer and star of The Kardashians then turned to polygraph operator Stephanie Jackson, who confirmed Kim was telling the truth:
