No, these images do not show Saudi Arabia’s NEOM stadium

A viral video has been widely shared online, claiming to show the NEOM Stadium — a venue reportedly part of Saudi Arabia’s massive NEOM project — built on top of a skyscraper. In fact, these images are artificial creations made with AI and are not part of the official plans.

Viral spread on social media

Since late October, images of a futuristic stadium have circulated on social media. Many users insisted that it depicted the stadium intended for The Line, a high-tech city within the NEOM megaproject.

On October 26, Rwandan user Edwin Musoni shared the video on X, quickly reaching 3.5 million views. His post included a short clip showing a stadium apparently placed atop a tall tower within a vision of a futuristic city.

Musoni claimed the stadium would stand 1,150 feet (350 metres) above ground level.

Fact-checking and official information

Although NEOM does plan to include a stadium within The Line, the shared visuals are fictional and AI-generated. An inspection of the official NEOM accounts on X and Instagram revealed no such video or images of a stadium at that altitude.

The authentic NEOM announcement, posted last December, described the NEOM Stadium as a real project set to be positioned about 350 metres above ground level — but in a different architectural context from the viral video.

Author Summary

The viral NEOM Stadium video shows AI-created imagery, not official plans from Saudi Arabia’s NEOM project, despite widespread online claims.
