Florida center Olivier Rioux, standing at 7'9", made history on Thursday by becoming the tallest player to take part in a Division I college basketball game. The redshirt freshman appeared for the final 2:09 in Florida's 104-64 home victory over North Florida.
Although Rioux did not record any statistics during his brief playing time, the limited opportunity restricted his ability to contribute statistically. Originally from Terrebonne, Quebec, Canada, Rioux played high school basketball at IMG Academy in Florida. A 3-star prospect in the 2024 class, he chose Florida after receiving offers from Florida Atlantic and Stetson.

Rioux holds the Guinness World Record as the tallest teenager and has represented Canada in multiple international competitions, including the 2024 U18 FIBA AmeriCup, where Canada finished third.
