Florida’s Olivier Rioux, standing 7-foot-9, made his eagerly anticipated debut against North Florida, becoming the tallest player ever to compete in college basketball.
During the Gators’ commanding 104-64 victory, a crowd of approximately 10,065 fans chanted “Oli, Oli, Oli” to cheer on the youngest and tallest player on the team, who had not played since joining in summer 2024. With 2:09 remaining and UF leading 102-61 at the O’Connell Center, Coach Todd Golden responded to the crowd’s call by putting Rioux in the game.

Olivier Rioux remains a campus-wide sensation, often approached for photos, autographs, and conversations.
