Jessica Simpson reflects on 8 years of sobriety: ‘Purpose for my life’

Jessica Simpson reflects on eight years of sobriety

Jessica Simpson has reached a meaningful milestone, celebrating eight years without alcohol and embracing a renewed sense of direction in her life.

The singer marked the anniversary on November 2 by sharing an honest message about how sobriety reshaped her purpose and perspective.

“Eight years ago today I made the choice to confront, to confess and to let go of the self-sabotaging parts of my life that I was choosing.”

She wrote that decision allowed her to live in pursuit of what she believes to be God’s plan for her life. Simpson, 45, reflected that alcohol once dulled her intuition and limited her dreams.

“Alcohol silenced my intuition, blocked my dreams and chased my circulating fears of complacency.”

Looking back, Simpson said she now experiences clarity and strength through faith.

“Today I am clear. Both fear and faith are something that we feel and may not see. I’m so happy I chose faith over fear.” “It was not in the fight that I found my strength, it was in the surrender.”

The new chapter for Simpson coincides with major personal changes, including her split from husband Eric Johnson, with whom she shares three children: Maxwell, Ace, and Birdie. She is also preparing for her return to acting in the upcoming legal drama All’s Fair, starring alongside Kim Kardashian, Niecy Nash, and Sarah Paulson.
