The opening episode, titled The Crawl, begins deep in the Upside Down forest. Will Byers is alone and terrified as he encounters a looming Demogorgon. The creature chases him relentlessly until it captures Will and hands him over to Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), who appears from the shadows.
