Muslim Inmate Files Religious Liberty Suit in "Supermax" Prison
A foreign-born Muslim inmate in the U.S.'s most restrictive prison complex is seeking accommodation for his religious practices under a federal statute.

District Judge Philip Brimmer ruled on Sept. 25 that Mostafa Kamel Mostafa had demonstrated that prison officials at the ADX Florence facility in Colorado had "substantially burdened the exercise of his religion" by failing to install a special cleaner in one of his cells.
- The prison, known as the "Alcatraz of the Rockies," is a "supermax" facility with a near-total state of lockdown.
- It houses some of the most dangerous inmates in the U.S.
The case underscores just how extensively the principles of religious liberty have been applied in the United States.
