The legendary rock band AC/DC announced their Power Up tour earlier this year, signaling their first homecoming to Australia in ten years. Tickets for the Melbourne Cricket Ground concert on November 12 sold out almost instantly, prompting promoters to add a second and final show on November 16.
New tickets have now been released via Ticketek, but fans are urged to act fast as these additional seats are limited. The Power Up tour follows AC/DC’s massive European and North American success — selling two million tickets over 24 shows across Europe and completing 10 sold-out dates in North America.
The band closed their Cleveland show in May before heading straight into a European stretch that began in Prague on June 26, covering venues from Estonia to Scotland.
“After conquering Europe and North America, AC/DC are finally bringing their stadium-shaking spectacle back home.”
The current lineup includes founding guitarist Angus Young, vocalist Brian Johnson, rhythm guitarist Stevie Young, drummer Matt Laug, and bassist Chris Chaney. Melbourne punk outfit Amyl and the Sniffers will open all Australian dates, following the acclaim of their latest album Cartoon Darkness.
AC/DC return to Australia with two Melbourne shows, extending their Power Up tour’s global success and partnering with Amyl and the Sniffers as support.
