The London Eye will once again illuminate in tribute to those who lost their lives in battle, shining in red and green to form the image of a poppy. The display will take place on Remembrance Sunday, November 9, and again on Armistice Day, November 11.
Visitors gazing across London’s skyline at nightfall will see the observation wheel glowing brightly, its pods lit in the vivid hues of the poppy design. With days growing shorter after the recent clock change, the sight promises to bring a comforting radiance to the city’s centre.
“Those who are present at the London Eye on both Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day will be invited to join the surrounding crowd in a two-minute silence to honour both occasions.”
This annual gesture continues the tradition of marking Remembrance Day by illuminating the capital’s skyline as an act of respect and remembrance.
Elsewhere in London, other landmarks and institutions will participate in the commemorations. Transport for London will decorate several station roundels and select buses with poppy motifs, ensuring that the remembrance theme spans the entire capital throughout the week.
Visitors can experience the poppy light show on both occasions, paying tribute to those who served and sacrificed.
The London Eye and landmarks across London will glow in red and green poppy colors for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day, uniting the city in quiet tribute to the fallen.
