Remembrance Day Parades 2025: Bus Service Changes on Sunday 9 November
Temporary route changes will affect some bus services on Remembrance Sunday, 9th November 2025. The National Commemorative Trust (NCT) has been informed of key parades, though other brief disruptions may also occur.
Bus Service Adjustments During Moments of Silence
At 11:00 am on both Sunday 9th and Tuesday 11th November, bus drivers will observe two minutes of silence. Where it is safe, they will park their buses and switch off engines. The company encourages passengers to join in this national remembrance.
Free Travel for Serving Personnel and Veterans
NCT offers free travel for all serving personnel, cadets, and veterans from 8th to 11th November 2025 inclusive. Passengers must either show valid ID or be in uniform when boarding.
Road Closures and Route Diversions
- Nottingham Road, Church Drive, and Sir John Robinson Way will close between 09:00 and 12:00 on Sunday 9th November. During this time, Lilac 25 and Lime 58 routes will be diverted.
- The following stops will not be served on these diverted routes: Charles Street, Sainsbury’s, Portland Street, Daybrook Square, Thackeray’s Lane, and Calstock Road.
Calverton Parade Impact
There will be a parade in Calverton on Sunday 9th November from 09:00 to 12:00 affecting the Sky Blue 61 route. The following stops will be skipped: St Wilfrid’s Square, St Wilfrid’s Church, and Oakland Grove.
East Leake Road Closure and Bus Diversion
Main Street in East Leake will be closed on Sunday 9th November between 10:30 and 11:45. South Notts 1 will be diverted via Main Street, Castle Hill, and Loughborough Road during this period.
