Warriors Triple Up Hitmen to Start the Week

The Moose Jaw Warriors snapped a losing streak on Wednesday night with a decisive 6–2 victory over the Calgary Hitmen. Their strong start set the tone for the game and demonstrated control on both ends of the ice.

Early Power Play Success

Just before the seven-minute mark, the Warriors drew the first power play of the night. Pavel McKenzie opened the scoring, notching his fifth goal of the season on the man advantage. Moments later, back at even strength, Dominik Pavlik struck again to double the Warriors’ lead.

Building the Lead

With just over five minutes left in the first period, Moose Jaw earned another power play but couldn’t convert. Captain Lynden Lakovic soon extended the lead during even play, sending the team into intermission up 3–0. The Warriors closed the period while killing a penalty on a cross-checking minor to Steven Steranka.

Defensive Strength in the Second

Starting the second period shorthanded, the Warriors successfully killed the remainder of Steranka’s penalty. Not long after, defenceman Connor Schmidt was called for kneeing, giving the Hitmen another man advantage. Calgary capitalized this time, finding the net for their first goal of the night.

Scramble Around the Net

Midway through the period, a skirmish in front of goaltender Chase Wutzke led to minor penalties for Brady Ness and Harrison Lodewyk, putting both sides four-on-four as the intensity continued to rise.

“The Warriors showed poise under pressure, responding quickly to each challenge and maintaining control of the tempo throughout the game.”

Author’s summary: Moose Jaw dominated early, maintained composure through penalties, and set a solid tone for the week with a 6–2 win over Calgary.
