Wigan Girl to Star Alongside Harry Potter Legend

Two young actors from Greater Manchester are set to appear in Channel 4’s new drama Summerwater, premiering Sunday, 16 November. Bertie Wallwork, 10, from Salford, and Emily Briscoe, 12, from Wigan, both train at Ross Adams’ Small Screen Talent acting academy, with branches in Manchester and Wigan.

Rising Talents from Greater Manchester

Bertie Wallwork already has several TV credits including roles in Ted Lasso (Apple TV) and Pushers (Channel 4). Emily Briscoe makes her professional television debut in Summerwater, starting what promises to be a notable screen career.

Summerwater is a six-part drama adapted from the best-selling novel by Sarah Moss. The series was adapted by Utopia writer John Donnelly and directed by veterans Robert McKillop and Fiona Walton.
