The Scotland-set thriller Summerwater, starring Dougray Scott and Shirley Henderson, has unveiled its first trailer. Highly anticipated, the series promises to be "thrilling and compulsive."
The six-part series is based on Sarah Moss's 2020 novel of the same name and takes place at a loch-side holiday park in Scotland. The story explores the simmering tensions among five families during their stay, unfolding dramatically after a fire breaks out at the camp.
“There's an ordinary violence in all of us. We're capable of such terrible things,” remarked Scott’s character, hinting at the dark themes within the story.
John Donnelly adapted the novel for the screen, while Robert McKillop and Fiona Walton directed the series.
