Fairphone, known for ethically sourced smartphones made with sustainability and repairability in mind, has sold its phones only in Europe so far. The /e/ Foundation has offered some Fairphone models in the US with higher prices and a modified Android version called /e/OS.
Now, Fairphone CEO Raymond van Eck revealed to Reuters that the company is launching its first product in the US, but it will not be a phone. Instead, they are introducing a pair of repairable headphones. This could mark the beginning of direct sales of their sustainable smartphones to American customers.
