Gaza officials warn thousands remain trapped under rubble, say aid flow 'critically insufficient'

Gaza Officials Warn Thousands Remain Trapped Under Rubble

Gaza authorities have reported that only 4,453 aid trucks were permitted to enter the territory out of the 15,600 promised under the ceasefire agreement, leaving thousands of civilians in dire need.

“The humanitarian situation in Gaza requires urgent intervention to end the suffering of thousands of families waiting to know the fate of their children,” the committee stated.

The statement called for immediate entry of international rescue teams and heavy machinery to assist in recovering bodies of trapped and missing Palestinians.

“Israel’s continued prevention of crucial equipment from entering Gaza is a clear violation of international humanitarian law,” it added, urging decisive action from the global community “to save as many lives as possible and preserve human dignity.”

According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, since the announcement of the US peace plan, only 28 percent of the agreed number of aid trucks has reached Gaza. The office accused Israel of continuing what it described as “a policy of strangulation.”

The agency emphasized that the limited aid deliveries “do not meet even basic needs” and warned that Gaza requires a consistent flow of at least 600 aid trucks daily to meet minimal humanitarian standards.
