The Brit 50: Riff Raff Entertainment

Actor Jude Law and his producing partner Ben Jackson are developing a lineup of writer-led projects through their company, Riff Raff Entertainment. Among the upcoming works are Sharon Horgan’s first feature screenplay and a 1960s-set drama based on a script by ‘Challengers’ writer Justin Kuritzkes.

Company Background

Law and Jackson first met in a Primrose Hill pub in London in 2000. They founded Riff Raff Entertainment in 2017, turning it into a small but ambitious production company. Notable productions include Harry Wootliff’s True Things (2021), followed by investment from Calculus Capital in 2022.

Recent Work and Partnerships

Before the 2023 US writers’ and actors’ strikes, the company completed Justin Kurzel’s The Order. When the industry resumed, they filmed the Netflix series Black Rabbit. The company’s growth continues through key partnerships — a first-look deal with Anton for film and Studio TF1 for television.

“It’s win-win for us,” said Ben Jackson. “We can take a project to them and they can place it with the right team that connects with the story.”

Future Plans

Riff Raff aims to open an office in Los Angeles and continue supporting original voices and creators.

“We’re hoping to expand through the involvement and tastes of the people leading our development team,” said Jude Law. “Nurturing other people’s ideas and passions is key to our long-term survival.”

Author’s Summary

Jude Law and Ben Jackson’s Riff Raff Entertainment evolves into a dynamic, writer-focused studio expanding globally with film and TV partnerships.
