Mail shipments from Bermuda to Canada will restart next week despite ongoing rolling strikes at Canada Post. A spokeswoman from the Bermuda Post Office (BPO) confirmed the resumption beginning Monday but warned that delivery delays might still occur due to disruptions.
“The BPO appreciates the public’s patience and co-operation during this time.”
Mail delivery to Canada was halted in late September amid a nationwide strike at Canada Post. Last month, the Canadian Union of Postal Workers shifted from a full strike to a rotating strike, enabling mail services to resume gradually.
In addition, the Bermuda Post Office announced all local post offices will close at noon tomorrow for a staff event.
“The BPO apologises for any inconvenience this early closure may cause.”
