Shoshana Bean, former Broadway star of Wicked, revealed why she has yet to see Wicked: Part 1, despite the upcoming release of the sequel, Wicked: For Good, hitting theaters in November.
Speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the New York Restoration Project Hulaween Gala on October 24, Bean explained her decision to wait until the second film’s release to watch them back-to-back.
“I waited until the second, so I could watch them back-to-back,” Bean said. She added that she is “absolutely” thrilled to experience both movies in sequence.
Bean portrayed Elphaba on Broadway from 2005 to 2006 and remains excited about the cinematic adaptation, especially the song “No Good Deed.”
“It’s a very cinematic song, and I would love to see it have more life than what a stage is capable of doing,” she shared. “I could not even possibly imagine to the extent that Jon Chu’s genius can dream, can create.”
Bean’s approach shows her respect for the storytelling experience by enjoying the films as a continuous narrative.
Summary: Shoshana Bean eagerly awaits the release of Wicked: For Good to watch both films back-to-back, highlighting her excitement to see the iconic song “No Good Deed” come alive on the big screen.
