Reports suggest that a sequel to F1, the thrilling 2025 sports action film starring Brad Pitt, might soon be in development. Irish Oscar-nominee Kerry Condon, known for her role in The Banshees of Inisherin, revealed that producer Jerry Bruckheimer has spoken with her about returning for a possible follow-up.
The original movie debuted in cinemas in June and featured Brad Pitt as Sonny Hayes, a seasoned, wandering racer who gets one last shot at Formula 1 greatness. Kerry Condon portrayed Kate McKenna, the technical director of Sonny’s struggling team, and their characters shared a tense romantic storyline.
“Like [director Joseph] Kosinski’s previous blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick, his latest does not reinvent the wheel. It hits all the best beats of the sports movie formula (the behind-the-scenes drama, the rivals learning the importance of teamwork) with such energy, enthusiasm and charm that it is nearly impossible not to be won over by the film.”
The movie impressed both critics and audiences with its authentic racing sequences, created by blending footage of Pitt and co-star Damson Idris driving F2 cars modified to resemble F1 vehicles, along with actual Formula 1 race footage.
“The end result: some of the most authentic, visceral racing scenes we’ve ever seen, which immerse audiences in the action like never before.”
F1 proved to be a massive box office success and quickly became one of the standout films of 2025.
Kerry Condon revealed early talks with producer Jerry Bruckheimer about a possible sequel to Brad Pitt’s hit racing movie F1, celebrated for its realism and heartfelt performances.
