Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone Team Up for a Miss Piggy Movie

Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are joining forces for their first collaborative project, which will be a Muppet movie centered on Miss Piggy. Lawrence revealed the news during an appearance on the Las Culturistas podcast with Matt Rogers and Bowen Yang.

“I don't know if I can announce this, but I'm just going to. Emma Stone and I are producing a Miss Piggy movie.”

The screenplay will be written by Cole Escola, the writer and star of the Broadway hit Oh, Mary!. When asked if they would star in the film, Lawrence replied with a laugh:

“I think so… We have to.”

Cole Escola is a Tony Award winner but has not yet written any theatrically released films. However, Escola has contributions in television, including episodes for The Other Two, At Home with Amy Sedaris, and Ziwe.

Miss Piggy is a key figure in the Muppets franchise, created by Jim Henson and originally performed by Frank Oz. She is known for her glamorous style, diva personality, karate chops, and her romantic affection for Kermit the Frog.

“I’m all for a new Muppets adventure. I’ve long campaigned for them to host the Oscars, and honestly, they deserve it.”

Further details about the project have not been disclosed.

Summary: Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone are producing a Miss Piggy Muppet movie, with Cole Escola writing the screenplay, marking their first joint project.
