Paul Rodgers, lead singer of Bad Company and former member of Free and The Firm, announced he will not attend the 2025 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony. The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 9.
He shared the news on the band’s Instagram account on November 3, explaining that he needs to focus on his health rather than participate in the ceremony or perform for fans.
“My hope was to be at the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time I have to prioritize my health. I have no problem singing, it’s the stress of everything else. Thanks for understanding.”
Rodgers stated that his longtime bandmate Simon Kirke, along with other accomplished musicians, will take his place during the event. The two had planned to reunite on stage as the only surviving members from the band’s original lineup.
Although Rodgers did not disclose specific health details this time, he previously revealed on CBS Mornings in 2023 that he suffered 13 strokes in recent years. While most were minor, two were severe enough to leave him temporarily unable to speak.
“I couldn’t do anything to be honest,” Rodgers shared about the aftermath of those major strokes.
Paul Rodgers will miss the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame ceremony to prioritize his health after surviving multiple strokes, with his bandmate and other musicians stepping in for the event.
