Paul Rodgers confirmed he will not attend the upcoming Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony, disappointing fans hoping for a reunion of Bad Company members. The band is being honored as part of the Hall's class of 2025, marking their first nomination.
Bad Company will be recognized along with other notable acts such as Oasis, Seattle's Soundgarden, the White Stripes, and session musician Carol Kaye. Oasis has awaited induction for two years before finally securing their place.
“My hope was to be at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and to perform for the fans, but at this time, I have to prioritize my health,” Rodgers wrote on Instagram. “I have no problem singing; it's the stress of everything else.”
Rodgers, who co-founded Bad Company following the breakup of Free, has endured several strokes in recent years, leading to the band's retirement in 2023. Their final concert was in 2019, supporting Lynyrd Skynyrd in Las Vegas.
Though Rodgers will be absent, the band’s presence is expected through other members. Drummer Simon Kirke remains, and former Heart guitarist Howard Leese has been leading the band’s guitar role since 2008.
Paul Rodgers prioritizes his health over performing at Bad Company's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction, marking a poignant moment for the band and their fans.
