Riot Games has announced the full schedule and venues for the 2026 international League of Legends Esports events, featuring a blend of returning and new host cities.
The first event of 2026, First Stand, will take place in São Paulo, Brazil, from March 16 to 22. Five teams from each region will compete for the season's opening international title. This marks the return of an international LoL event to Brazil since 2017.
“Brazil has one of our most passionate player bases,” said Chris Greeley, director of LoL Esports. “We can’t wait to see the city come alive once again for LoL.”
Every match in First Stand will be a best-of-five series.
The MSI will be hosted in Daejeon, South Korea’s fifth-largest city. Eleven teams from various regions will compete, with only one team advancing from the Play-ins to the double-elimination Bracket Stage.
The double-elimination format “ensures every match will have enough attention,” explained Greeley.
This year’s World Championship will be split between two major U.S. locations. Texas will host the Play-ins, Swiss Stage, and Knockout Stage, while New York City will hold the Grand Finals.
LoL Esports returns to Brazil and South Korea with new and exciting venues, while 2026 Worlds will culminate in two iconic U.S. cities, underlining Riot Games’ commitment to diverse global hosting.
