Pete Davidson unexpectedly appeared on Saturday Night Live during the “Weekend Update” segment hosted by Colin Jost. They humorously discussed the Staten Island Ferry the two had purchased years ago.
“The New York Times recently ran an article calling the Staten Island Ferry that I purchased with Pete Davidson a ‘money losing fiasco.’ With more on this, is Pete Davidson,”
Jost introduced Davidson as he rolled into the shot, sparking laughter from the audience.
“Colin, you’re looking great as ever. [Michael] Che, starting to crack,”
Davidson joked before touching on topics such as his recent participation in the Riyadh Comedy Festival and upcoming fatherhood.
Davidson quipped about their financial loss on the ferry:
“So yeah, in case you’re wondering why I had to do a show in Saudi Arabia, we’re losing millions on this ferry. I assume that’s what the article says. I can’t spend $5 on a paywall when I got a kid on the way.”
He and Jost teased the ferry’s name:
“We even gave the boat a new name, you know. We thought the Staten Island Ferry sounded too depressing, so now it’s called the Titanic 2,”
Davidson said.
“That’s right, and it’s actually going very well,”
added Jost, mentioning a deal with Nike:
“Recently, we got paid by Nike to put an ad on it for the New York City Marathon.”
Pete Davidson’s surprise SNL appearance included playful banter about the ferry he owns with Colin Jost, blending humor with real-life updates.
