Pete Davidson Reveals What It Would Take to Return to His SNL Roots

Comedian and actor Pete Davidson opened up about what might bring him back to Saturday Night Live in an exclusive interview with PEOPLE. At 20 years old, he joined the late-night sketch show in 2014 and left in 2022 after eight seasons that defined much of his early career.

“I’d do anything for Lorne,” Davidson said, referring to long-time SNL producer Lorne Michaels. “I had a great time hosting last time, and anytime you get that call, it’s an honor and a privilege.”

Davidson emphasized his deep appreciation for Michaels and the show, describing SNL as a dynamic and entertaining program that consistently connects with audiences. He added that the current cast keeps the show fresh and exciting.

“I owe that guy my life. So I’d do anything for Lorne, and he knows that,” he added.

After joining SNL for season 40 in 2014–2015, Davidson quickly became one of the youngest cast members in the show’s history. Now collaborating with Amazon for Alexa+, the 31-year-old continues to balance comedy and acting projects beyond Studio 8H.
