Police confirmed that a woman and child drowned after falling into Dandenong Creek this afternoon, 10 November.
A witness reported seeing two individuals swept away near Allan Street around 3:45 pm. It is believed the woman attempted to help the child but both encountered trouble in the water.
Authorities searched the area, found the unconscious pair, and pulled them from the creek. CPR was administered on site, but they could not be revived and were declared dead.
The victims have not yet been identified. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
