Surging Ducks Ground Jets for Seventh Straight Win

ANAHEIM — Rookie Beckett Sennecke scored his first two-goal game, while Leo Carlsson added two power-play tallies to lift the Anaheim Ducks over the Winnipeg Jets, 4-1, on Sunday night at Honda Center.

With this win, the Ducks extended their streak to seven straight victories, their longest since the 2021–22 season when they reached eight. They’ve also triumphed in nine of their last ten outings, emerging as one of the hottest teams in the NHL.

In the past week, Anaheim defeated the 2025 Pacific Division champions from Vegas and last season’s Presidents’ Trophy winners on consecutive nights. Their current surge includes wins over the reigning two-time Stanley Cup champions, a Western Conference finalist, and another 2025 playoff team.

“I heard about the losing days of the past couple years from the older guys, and they’re pretty pumped right now,” said Sennecke.

Next, the Ducks head to Denver for a matchup against the Colorado Avalanche — the NHL’s top two teams by points percentage.

“It’ll be a good challenge for us. We knew our schedule had a bunch of tough teams in a row, and I think we’re proving why we’re an established team,” added Sennecke.

Leo Carlsson is now tied with Connor Bedard of Chicago, who was drafted ahead of him in 2023, for second in league scoring, trailing only Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon.

Author’s Summary
