The Sixers fought hard until the final buzzer Sunday night but could not secure a two-win weekend. They lost a close 111-108 game to the Pistons at Xfinity Mobile Arena.
Tyrese Maxey missed a three-point shot at the buzzer that could have tied the game. The Sixers’ record is now 6-4, while Detroit improved to 8-2.
Several players missed the game due to injuries. Tobias Harris sat out with a right ankle sprain. The Sixers opted for a starting frontcourt of Trendon Watford and Andre Drummond.
“The day after his first NBA triple-double, Watford turned 25 years old.”
Watford posted seven points, three rebounds, and two assists, while Drummond started his first game of the season.
The Sixers will host the Boston Celtics on Tuesday night.
The Sixers showed resilience in a narrow loss to Detroit, highlighted by strong individual efforts but hampered by key absences and a missed last-second shot.
