Liberals Select Nick Tyrrell for Senate Run

Party president Nick Tyrrell has been chosen as the Canberra Liberals' lead Senate candidate for the upcoming federal election. A long-time Canberra resident and local business leader, Mr Tyrrell is recognized for his practical approach to reform.

Business Leadership and Community Impact

Since founding GoBoat Australia on Lake Burley Griffin in 2017, Tyrrell has developed one of Canberra’s notable small business successes. GoBoat is an environmentally friendly tourism venture now operating across four states, headquartered on the Kingston foreshore.

Living in the Inner South with his partner and two young children, Tyrrell has played a significant role in activating Canberra’s waterfront, creating jobs, and promoting the city's lifestyle to both residents and visitors.

Political Experience and Vision

Mr Tyrrell has prior experience as a Liberal staffer and senior government adviser. He aims to serve the community that supports him by advocating for policies that improve the lives of local families, small businesses, and first-home buyers.

“I’m fighting for practical reform: tackling housing affordability, giving families genuine childcare choice, and ensuring the national capital gets the attention and investment it deserves,” Mr Tyrrell said.
