Elizabeth Olsen Explains Why She's On Board With 'Absurd' 6-7 Trend
Elizabeth Olsen recently joined Seth Meyers to discuss the viral 6-7 trend that has caught the attention of Gen Alpha. Although she admits she’s not very connected to online culture, Olsen said she’s fully aware of the phenomenon and even enjoys it.
Appearing on Meyers’ late-night show to promote her new film Eternity, which opens in theaters this week, Olsen plays a 90-year-old woman named Joan. The actress confessed that she sometimes feels like an elderly person in real life because she is, as she put it, a bit “out of touch with the times.”
“I don’t really know what’s going on in culture,” Olsen said. “But I do know about 6-7.”
Meyers congratulated her for being in the loop, even though he admitted he has avoided learning about the trend from his kids. Olsen then decided to explain why it fascinates people.
“I think the reason they love it is because it’s absurd and random,” she explained. “There’s something funny about getting excited over two numbers that just happen to be in order.”
Meyers joked that those numbers have always been in that order, which Olsen agreed made the trend even funnier and more nonsensical.
