CELEC Shortlists Consultants for Chachimbiro Geothermal Project
CELEC has pre-selected three consultancies for Phase 1 of the Chachimbiro geothermal project in Ecuador.
The project, located in Imbabura province, is moving towards its development phase with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

- Consorcio Geotermico Chachimbiro
The selected consultant will conduct initial studies and drilling, with a decision expected by the end of 2025.
This project will be Ecuador's first geothermal generation project, with a projected capacity of up to 50 MW.
