Fox Crossing Selects New Police Chief

The Village of Fox Crossing has chosen Capt. Tim Callan as its next police chief, succeeding Scott Blashka.

Thomas Gritton, president of the Police and Fire Commission, announced the selection. Callan was one of three finalists, along with Deputy Chief Shawn Engleman and Deputy Chief Matthew Laha.

"In the end, Tim was the person who rose above the others,"

Gritton said. "The other candidates were great people, and we would have been happy to have them. We just feel like Tim is going to be the best fit for the village."

Callan will succeed Police Chief Scott Blashka, who will retire on Jan. His starting salary is subject to negotiations, with a minimum salary of $112,170 and a midpoint salary of $126,191.
