The Samson Switchblade, a street-legal three-wheeled car that transforms into a 200 mph plane, has received its airworthiness certificate from the FAA after 14 years of development.
With a 1.6 liter, three cylinder engine and an electric motor, the Switchblade can reach cruising speeds of almost 200 miles per hour and has a 450-mile range on a full tank.
The Switchblade is not the only flying car in development, with the "AirCar" receiving airworthiness from Slovakian authorities in January and set for production.
The future of transportation is changing with the development of flying cars like the Samson Switchblade and AirCar.
