New Energy New York Kicks Off "Battery Week"

New Energy New York (NENY) has launched its first-ever "Battery Week" at the Oakdale Commons, aiming to educate the public on battery innovation in Binghamton.

The event features electric vehicle test drives, manufacturing forums, and community engagement events. According to Deputy Director Emily Marino, the goal is to inform the public about the growing local industry.

"We want people to know what Binghamton University has been doing with New Energy New York over the past few years,"

Marino said. "We want people to know how they can engage in this up-and-coming battery storage ecosystem that we’re building in the Southern Tier."

Following a grant from the Economic Development Administration, NENY, in partnership with Binghamton University, has focused on developing the Southern Tier's battery capabilities, training thousands of workers and attracting significant investments to local startups.
