Panthers Suffer First Loss of the Season
The Florida Panthers experienced their first defeat of the season, losing 5-2 to the Flyers. The Panthers, who started 3-0, found themselves down by two goals for the first time but attempted a rally.
Sam Reinhart scored a shorthanded goal with 38 seconds left in the second period, and Sam Bennett tied the game with a power play goal at 10:15 of the third. However, Sean Couturier scored his second goal with 4:10 remaining, securing the win for the Flyers.
Dan Vladar made 24 saves, while Daniil Tarasov stopped 17 shots in his Florida debut.
The Panthers trailed 2-0 late in the second but their rally came up short.
