Federal Decision on Tasmania Wind Project Delayed

The St Patricks Plains wind project in Tasmania has been delayed for the fifth time, with a new decision deadline set for November 28.

The project, initially designed for 67 turbines, has been scaled back to 47 turbines with a capacity of 291 megawatts (MW).

A government spokesperson stated that both the previous delay and the current one were requested by developer Ark Energy.

Ark Energy has been contacted for comment.

The project has been waiting for a decision under the federal Environmental Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act since May.
